Made in Tel Aviv
The source of inspiration for this work was Maskit’s fashion design institute, which effected a lot on Israel’s textile industry and reputation around the world. In contrary to the fashion design industry status in the 60’s , today a lot of local designers prefer to write on their design “made in Tel Aviv” instead of “made in Israel “ in order to avoid political issues. In my creation process I used one of the main symbols that represent the state of Israel - the flag. I referred to the flag as a combination of different and basic shapes that can appear In architectural elements in the city of Tel Aviv. In addition to the picture that captures the Tel Avivian element there is a legend, which serves also as a unique pattern. This unique pattern can be seen in each of the work’s elements.
